Sensex down 75 points; Nifty at 8,120

The Sensex fell over 75 points in early trade on Tuesday on profit booking by investors. The 30-share barometer, which had lost 175.40 points in Monday’s session, was trading down 75.45 points, or 0.28 per cent, at 26,828.66.

On similar lines, the NSE Nifty shed 22.90 points, or 0.28 per cent, at 8,120.70 points.

Among other Asian markets, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 0.23 per cent, Shanghai’s Composite index fell 0.30 per cent, while Japan’s Nikkei shed 0.93 per cent in early trade.

The U.S. Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.28 per cent higher in Monday’s trade.
