The U.S. dollar ended dearer against the rupee at Rs 46.58/59 per dollar and the pound sterling turned lower to Rs 69.64/66 per pound at the close of the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) Market here Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the Indian rupee depreciated by 29 paise to 46.73 a dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange today on capital outflows by foreign funds and the dollar’s gain overseas.
The rupee had ended 4 paise higher at 46.44 a dollar in the previous session on Wednesday.
