Infotech's tie-up with Boeing boosts business

May 27, 2011 02:31 am | Updated 02:31 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Infotech Enterprises, a engineering services major, expects 20 per cent growth in its revenues from Boeing, its largest aerospace customer in a single location. At the end of 2010-11, its revenues from the sector were about $12 million out of the company's total revenues of $260 million.

Infotech's President-Engineering Krishna Bodanapu on Thursday said the company was among a group of 16 companies chosen as Boeing's supplier of year in the non-production category. The aircraft manufacturer has 17,500 suppliers in over 50 countries. It may be recalled that in 2010-11, its revenues from the aerospace sector alone, crossed $100 million.

During an interaction with presspersons on a visit to the Boeing Centre of Excellence (CoE) located in Infotech's Manikonda campus, he recalled how its engagement with Boeing that had begun with just two associates in 2004, had now grown to a CoE, with 650 of them working exclusively for Boeing.

About Infotech's attempts to boost its aerospace business, Mr. Krishna said the company was in advanced stages of negotiations with Lockheed Martin and that if things were firmed up, it would work with the aircraft engine maker. Also, it was in talks with Northrop, an American global aerospace and defence technology major, he said.

Admitting that the company was not too much in the avionics business, Rajendra Velagapudi, Senior Vice-President & Global Delivery Head-Aerospace, however, said that Infotech was in talks with several companies and looking forward to engagements on this space too.
