I-T conducts surveys at Jet’s offices

The Income Tax (I-T) Department on Wednesday conducted surveys at the offices of Jet Airways in Mumbai and Delhi to look into the accounts for verification of expenses by the airline in the past quarters.

People familiar with the development said this followed specific complaints on financial irregularities.

“Income Tax officials are conducting a survey at the office,” a Jet Airways spokesperson said, while confirming the development.

A statement from the department was awaited till the time of going to press. Recently, Corporate Affairs Ministry had ordered an investigation following allegations of financial irregularities at the airline.
