Hexaware’s Nishar unveils start-up ‘Azent’

Hexaware founder Atul Nishar has launched an education technology start-up Azent Overseas Education Limited with daughter Priyanka Nishar, aimed at disrupting overseas education advisory industry with the use of innovative technology.

Mr. Nishar plans to invest ₹250 crore in his new venture.

Mr. Nishar’s first venture was the educational institution Aptech, which he exited in 2003.

When asked for comments, Mr. Nishar told The Hindu, “I founded Aptech and learned about the education space and with Hexaware, I learned about the technology space. Both companies were globally known and were successful. I am combining both my experiences of education and technology in Azent.”

Priyanka Nishar - an alumnus of the Harvard Business School and Cornell University - plans tie ups with leading global universities to help Indian students secure admission.

“Our students can access over 1,200 universities across the world. We match students to the best possible universities where they will excel in their programmes. Our comprehensive list of scholarships will guide students and further their possibilities,” she said.

“To study abroad is a life-changing decision for Indian students. They need impartial guidance backed by a good knowledge base and up to date information. Azent aims to offer these to the students by using modern technology like AI, data mining. “Azent focuses on diverse offerings, providing students the best possible admissions guidance, while keeping in mind their individual strengths, to set them up for future success,” said a Azent statement.

“Azent is structured as a public limited company. This is one-of-a-kind as distinguished from the proprietary and partnership model that is prevalent in the advisory industry. We have planned an investment of ₹250 crore in cutting edge technologies, building of products and offerings, acquisition and centre infrastructure.” Mr. Nishar added.
