DHFL says no info on probe, stock tanks

Mortgage lender Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd. (DHFL) has informed the exchanges that it has not received any communication from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in relation to any probe against the firm.

On Thursday, the DHFL stock tanked another 15.9% to close the day at ₹135.85 after shedding 16.4% in the last two days. In the last three sessions, the stock fell close to 30%. The stock came under pressure following reports alleging that the company promoters siphoned off ₹31,000 crore, which was denied by DHFL. The audit committee of the board of DHFL has appointed an independent chartered accountant firm to verify the allegations made in the complaint and submit a report in a time-bound manner, DHFL further informed the exchanges.
