Sundaram Mutual has launched a new fund ‘Sundaram Equity Plus'. The objective of this open-ended scheme is to seek capital appreciation by investing in equity and equity-related instruments listed in India to the extent of at least 65 per cent and in gold-ETFs (exchange traded funds) up to 35 per cent.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Sunil Subramaniam, Director (Sales & Marketing), said the scheme would primarily focus on opportunities in Indian equities with the addition of gold-ETF to provide diversification and exposure to the relative attractiveness of gold in certain phases.

T. P. Raman, Managing Director, Sundaram Mutual Fund, said combining the opportunities in Indian equities with gold-ETF presented a sturdy investment potential.

The units are offered at a face value of Rs. 10 and the minimum application amount is Rs. 5,000. The scheme offers growth and dividend options.

While the entry load is nil, the exit load is one per cent if redeemed within 12 months from the date of allotment.
