In another effort to rejuvenate its fortunes, Hewlett-Packard on Wednesday said it would combine printing and personal computer businesses while long serving India-origin executive Vyomesh Joshi would retire.
Battling tough market conditions, Hewlett-Packard (HP) noted the latest rejig would rationalise its “go-to-market strategy, branding, supply chain and customer support worldwide.''
The company is a leading maker of computers and printers. HP, which has good presence in India, would combine the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) and the Personal Systems Group (PSG) to create the Printing and Personal Systems Group.
Under the stewardship of Mr. Joshi, IPG, saw the revenues jump to $26 billion from $19 billion.
