In a significant move, Cognizant Technology Solutions has gone in for a major expansion of its executive management team.
Gordon Coburn, Chief Financial and Operating Officer, has been promoted as President. Mr. Coburn served as Chief Financial and Operating Officer since 2007. In his new role, Mr. Coburn will manage Cognizant's overall P&L.
Rajeev Mehta, Chief Operating Officer, Global Client Services, has been promoted as Group Chief Executive (Industries and Markets).
In his new role, Mr. Rajeev Mehta will be responsible for leading Cognizant's industry vertical and geographic market operations on a global basis.
Chandra Sekaran, President and Managing Director, Global Delivery, has been promoted as Group Chief Executive (Technology and Operations). In his new role, he will lead the company's solutions and delivery teams world-wide.
Karen McLoughlin, Senior Vice-President of Finance and Enterprise Transformation, has been promoted as Chief Financial Officer. In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of Cognizant's finance and accounting operations.
Malcolm Frank, Senior Vice-President, has been promoted as Executive Vice-President, Strategy and Marketing.
Net profit up
Meanwhile, the company reported revenue of $1.66 billion during the fourth quarter of 2011, against $1.31 billion in the year-ago period, up 27 per cent. Under GAAP , the net profit was $240.1 million, or $0.78 per diluted share in the period under review, as compared to $206.2 million, or $0.66 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of 2010.
