Chariot Beach Resorts, owned by Hotel Radha Pvt. Ltd., is spreading its wings and planning to open four new hotels in the next two years, according to R. Ravi, Director.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Ravi said the company would invest Rs. 65 crore by opening hotels in Puducherry, Madurai, Coimbatore and near Thanjavur. All these hotels would house 35 to 40 rooms and would be ready in the next two years. The required resources would be raised by selling around 40 acres owned by the company near Mahabalipuram. Mr. Ravi said Chariot Beach Resorts, located at Mahabalipuram, which started its operations in 2007, had an occupancy ratio of 72 per cent last year. Spread over 10 acres, the resorts had 70 rooms, including beach front cottages. As part of the expansion schemes, Chariot on Tuesday officially launched an activity centre on 30 acres dedicated to both inbound and outbound team building exercises along with adventure sports to benefit the corporate world.

Mr. Ravi said IT companies, BPOs and manufacturing companies were looking for these types of activities as part of their team building exercises.
