Tata group company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has bagged a prestigious order in Saudi Arabia by signing a contract with Saudi Arabia’s Chamber of Commerce of the Eastern Region for executing an Oracle ERP implementation project.
The project will be completed within a period of two-and-a-half- years in three phases ending in 2010, a press release issued here said.
The Chamber of Commerce of the Eastern Region is one of Saudi Arabia’s oldest and well-established service organisations promoting private sector contribution to the economy.
The project would enable investors and researchers to obtain relevant economic data from the database maintained by the Chamber pertaining to various industry sectors, Eastern Region Chamber of Commerce Chairman, Abdulrahman Al Rashed, said in the release.
“In addition, the project will extend communication channels between the Chamber, its subscribers, investors and researchers of the industry,” the release said.
The Chamber provides services to the local community and businesses to facilitate their interaction with the government with the objective of accelerating the Saudi Arabian economic growth.
The Chamber has now embarked upon an IT initiative to automate business processes in order to provide on-line web-based services to its customers.
“This transformation exercise would result in improved efficiency and quality, thereby changing the way services are delivered,” the release said.
The implementation of the latest version of the ERP software of the Oracle Corporation will also enhance its operations related to financial, logistical, human resources, customer relations management and project management functions.
“TCS has been providing cutting-edge solutions to its various clients in Saudi Arabia including the government, telecom companies, banks, insurance companies, airlines and oil and gas companies,” TCS’s Country Manager, Saudi Arabia, Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, said.
