Ricoh India's new initiatives

Ricoh India, a subsidiary of Ricoh Company of Japan and leader in the field of imaging solutions, unveiled its future plans.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, N. Maitra, Managing Director, Ricoh India, said the company had entered the mid volume production printing market and has garnered over 33 per cent market share in this segment.

The company unveiled its new offering, Ricoh C901/C901S Graphic Arts Edition, an advanced colour printing press designed specifically for the professional production printing segment. This offers near-offset quality from Ricoh's PXP chemical toner and oil-less fusing technology, he said.

Detailing various initiatives, Sujit Sanyal, Senior Vice-President (business operations), said Ricoh introduced pro-partnership programme. Its Live Experience Centre will be functioning in Delhi and Bangalore from February and March respectively. It will help potential customers to introduce various products, both hardware and software offering. Additionally, a media testing lab has been added to provide value-added service for customers.

The company has made an investment of Rs. 20 crore on these initiatives.

Outlining the future plans, Mr. Mitra said the company would be setting up a separate business division and was in talks with several companies for partnership and value-added services, including acquisitions, Mr. Mitra said.

With growing business and other activities, the company will be enhancing its manpower team from 660 to 1,000 by September.
