The Chennai-based Maya Appliances, which sells household appliances under Preethi brand, expanded its product portfolio. The company has launched its latest range of induction cook tops, electric auto cookers and warmers and a new range of electric pressure cookers.
The products were launched by Belgian tennis star Xavier Malisse at SDAT Tennis Stadium here during the 2010 Chennai Open.
T. T. Siddarth, Director-Operations, said the introduction of new products was a market-driven strategy to offer customised choices for trendy solutions. The new range would focus on Indian cooking needs.
He said Maya Appliances was planning to enter Gujarat and NCR besides strengthening its presence in Maharashtra.
He said Preethi was the largest selling mixer-grinder brand and its range of appliances includes coffee makers, kettles and irons.
The company has seven manufacturing facilities spread across Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh. It has so far invested around Rs.10 crore on expansion.
