The country’s leading automaker Maruti Suzuki India on Monday reported a 50.6 per cent increase in sales during the month of December 2009.
The company sold 84,804 units in December 2009 as compared to 56,293 units in December 2008, registering an increase of 50.6 per cent in sales during December, the company said in a press release.
For the period 2009-2010, the company had sold 7.30 lakh units as compared to 5.55 lakh units in 2008-09 registering an increase of 31.6 per cent, it said.
In the domestic market, the company sold 71,000 units in December 2009 as compared to 52,029 registering an increase of 36.5 per cent, it said.
In exports, the car maker has witnessed over 200 per cent increase in it sales during the month of December.
The company had exported 13,804 units in December 2009 as against 4,264 units in December 2008 registering an increase of 223.7 per cent it said.
For the period 2009-10, the company exported 1.05 lakh units an increase of 135.2 per cent as compared to 44,870 units during the period 2008-09, it said.
