Mahindra First Choice Wheels, a multi-brand pre-owned car company, on Wednesday launched its first “2S” superstore in Chennai.

Addressing presspersons after the inauguration of the showroom, Anand Mahindra, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra Group, said “2S” superstore concept would provide end-to-end eco-system. When his company entered the after-market sector in 2008, he said the intention was to create a business eco-system in the multi-brand pre-owned car space which would replicate the eco-system for new cars. The “2S” format was a further step in that direction.

Mr. Mahindra said this superstore, located on the Poonamalee High Road, Nerkundaram, an integrated sales and service facility, would provide end-to-end solution to sellers, buyers and owners of the vehicles.

Rajeev Dubey, President (Group HR and After-Market) and Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra and Mahindra, said this format was part of the company's strategy to leverage synergies between its sales and service businesses, thereby creating greater value for the customer. The company had so far opened 151 stores across the country, of which 133 were franchisees. The company was planning to double the number of stores to 300 in two years. Mr. Dubey said the pre-owned car market in Chennai was growing at a rapid rate with sales of about 5,500 cars a month. Mahindra First Choice aimed to sell over 10,000 cars in Chennai this year.
