Dell services for SMBs

Technology products major Dell on Monday launched ProSupport Mobility Services, a suite of modular asset and data protection services, for Indian small and medium businesses (SMBs).

The market potential for SMBs in the country in this service area was estimated at $3.2 billion.

Announcing the launch at a press conference here, Tim Griffin, Vice-President, Global Services (small & medium business group), Dell Global B.V., Singapore branch, said that ProSupport Mobility was designed to protect the PCs as well as the critical data stored in them.

He said the new services would help protect the data and assets anywhere in the world.

Tracking

The services include laptop tracking and recovery which helps companies to accurately track and recover lost or stolen laptops; remote data delete enables customers to remotely delete sensitive company data if a laptop was lost or stolen; hard drive data recovery retrieves information from a failed or damaged hard drive and certified data destruction destroys notebook data in a secure manner, providing certification of destruction and disposing of the customers hard drive in an environmentally responsible manner.

He said Dell would work with channel partners to provide service support to customers in 200 places across India.

Mr. Griffin said that Dell at present has a 12,000-strong workforce in India and was scaling up the headcount.
