Birlasoft opens centres in China, Mexico

CK Birla Group company Birlasoft on Wednesday announced opening of its global delivery centres in China (Beijing) and Mexico (Monterrey) to support clients from multiple locations in a combination of onshore, near-shore and offshore services model.

“Through our delivery centres, we aim to optimise our relationship with our clients by deepening our focus on multi-country strategy. Our three centres in India, China and Mexico will allow us to become more responsive to our current and potential customers by helping us align with our clients' primary time zones and, most importantly, minimise risk by reducing dependencies on any one country,” Birlasoft CEO Arup Gupta told The Hindu.

While Birlasoft plans to open a delivery centre soon in the U.S. from where 60-70 per cent of its business is generated, the IT firm which focuses on banking and financial services, insurance and manufacturing sectors, hopes to expand its presence in Latin America and the Asia Pacific region through the new centres.

On future plans, Mr. Gupta said the company was looking at acquisitions in India and abroad, for which it had created a separate cell.
