Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the decision to demonetise Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes on November 8, 2016.
Union Finance Minster Arun Jaitley will present his third Budget in Parliament on February
1.
As it is a major exercise by the government after the demonetisation move, Mr. Jaitley's speech will be closely watched for announcements that might alleviate some of the hardships caused by the sudden step on November 8 last year.
