Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. board on Wednesday decided to segregate the front-end retail pharmacy business into a separate firm Apollo Pharmacies Ltd. APL will focus on building a multi-year growth platform for the stand-alone pharmacies business to get to a medium-term target of over 5,000 pharmacy outlets over 5 years with a goal of over ₹10,000 crore in revenues. AHEL posted a 11.39% rise in standalone net profit for the second quarter to ₹78.98 crore against ₹70.9 crore a year earlier due to an increase in revenue. Total income improved by 15.1% to ₹2,090.05 crore against ₹1,815.86 crore.
