NSE names Vikram Limaye as MD & CEO

MUMBAI: The board of directors of the National Stock Exchange has appointed Vikram Limaye as the new managing director and chief executive officer (MD & CEO) of the bourse. The appointment, which is for a period of five years, is subject to the approval of the shareholders and also the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Mr. Limaye has been with IDFC Ltd since 2005 and was the MD & CEO of the financial institution. He has over 25 years of experience with financial institutions, global investment banks, international commercial banks, and global accounting firms.

He started his career with Arthur Andersen in 1987 and thereafter has worked in various organisations including Ernst & Young, Citibank and Credit Suisse First Boston on Wall Street for eight years.

He is a Bachelor in Commerce from Mumbai’s H R College of Commerce & Economics, a chartered accountant and MBA in Finance and Multinational Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
