Smartphone maker Xiaomi on Thursday unveiled seven new products, including smart TVs along with a wide range of ecosystem gadgets such as fitness band, security camera, air purifier and luggage.

“Going into the future, we don’t see [ourselves] just [only as] a smartphone company. We will definitely expand into many more categories. We’ve already done that here,” said Raghu Reddy, head, category and online sales, Xiaomi India, in an interview.

Xiaomi introduced three variants of Mi LED Smart TV Pro. These new generation of Mi LED TVs come with Xiaomi’s own PatchWall interface specially designed for India bringing together more than 14 different content partners. These are both local and global, resulting in over 700,000 hours of content, across the largest library of video-on-demand providers. Some of the top content partners include Hotstar, Hungama and Eros Now. Amazon Prime Video will also be available soon on PatchWall, said the company. Backed by Android TV, users will be able to install their desired apps on Google Play, watch YouTube videos and fully utilize features such as Chromecast built-in and Google Voice Search.

“TV is a massive market, it is the second biggest category in the country [after] smartphones,” said Mr.Reddy. “We believe that everyone buying a TV would like to upgrade to smart TV [if it provides real value], and that’s what we’re trying to achieve with the Mi TVs.”

Mi LED TV 4A Pro (49) and Mi LED TV 4C Pro (32) are priced at ₹29,999 and ₹14,999 respectively. The Mi LED TV 4 PRO (55) costs ₹49,999.
