TVS Motor Company has signed a pact with Abans Auto, a leading distributor in Sri Lanka.
The partnership will facilitate the Chennai-based company to sell TVS King, the 200 cc passenger three-wheeler, in the island nation. The tie-up will help TVS Motor to leverage the network of Abans Auto (which comprises over 200 showrooms).
TVS Motor will also appoint dealers in strategic locations around Sri Lanka. Abans Finance, a wing of the Sri Lankan firm, will provide fund assistance at affordable rates to customers of TVS Motor.
TVS King is a three-wheeler which combines power, style, comfort and mileage. “TVS King has an electric-start option. This reduces driver’s fatigue. The vehicle has a better head and legroom in the passenger compartment.
The suspension and the seat are positioned so as to optimise superior ride quality for a longer duration,”' according to a company statement. “ Abans Group is a trusted brand in Sri Lanka. Their auto subsidiary, Abans Auto, has an unrivalled distribution of 200 showrooms and touch-points across the country. Known for providing superior customer experience in sales and service, it is an ideal platform for TVS King to gain acceptance in the country,”' said R. Dilip, senior vice-president (international business), TVS Motor.
Behman Pestonjee, managing director of Abans PLC, felt TVS King was ideally suited for Sri Lankan conditions. “With an affordable price, together with financial assistance given to prospective buyers through Abans Finance, we are confident that it will market well in our country.”
