Sun TV Q2 net up 41%

Sun TV on Wednesday reported 41.37 per cent jump in net profit at Rs. 218.38 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015, on the back higher advertisement revenue.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs. 154.47 crore in the same period of last fiscal, Sun TV said in a BSE filing.

Total income from operations stood at Rs. 568.09 crore as against Rs. 509.02 crore in the year-ago period, up 11.6 per cent.

Advertisement revenue was up by 15.8 per cent during the quarter at Rs. 301.37 crore as against Rs. 260.26 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

Subscription revenue was at Rs. 197.42 crore as against Rs. 179.48 crore in the same period last fiscal, up 9.99 per cent, the company said.

Shares of Sun TV were trading at Rs. 383.30 in the mid-day trade, down 0.53 per cent from previous close on the BSE.
