City-based start-up Ama Vedic Services Pvt. Ltd. has embarked upon an unique way by using information technology to disseminate Vedic knowledge to Generation Next.

The initiative is a brainchild of V.V. Subramaniam, who had served 18 years with Ramco Systems in a leadership position, handling business consulting for the global aviation services business.

According to him, the objective is to simplify Vedic knowledge and offer an easy-to-access and friendly-to-assimilate way, all through the smart use of technology.

“The Ama Sarvamangala app has a user-friendly interface. It primarily focuses on digital publications of slokas/mantras , and stories from Puranas in a simplified form,” Mr. Subramaniam said. “The contents will not increase the [use of] memory of the device. One can bookmark or download a page for future reading,” he added.

The app has been built in such a way that it could digitally host varied content, magazines and texts in multiple languages, he added. Articles may be downloaded and read offline, he said.

“The app uses superior technology for faster browsing and navigation of pages and sections. This app is the first among a whole lot of other interesting products that Ama Vedic Services is envisaging for the future,” Mr. Subramaniam added.

The start-up, self-funded with help from friends, had a huge potential to scale up, Mr. Subramaniam said. Like-minded investors had shown keen interest in providing funding to scale up operations, he added.
