Music streaming app Saavn , on Thursday, said it had tied-up with T-Series to add over 1.30 lakh tracks to its portfolio.
With this deal, over 1.33 lakh tracks from T-Series will now be available for Saavn’s listeners on mobile devices in India, Saavn (South Asian Audio Video Network) said in a statement. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
“Legit music streaming services are making dedicated efforts in fighting piracy by providing a fast, simple, and legal alternative, which we support fully. We are happy to make our music available to a broader Indian audience via Saavn Music for mobile devices,” T-Series Chairman and Managing Director Bhushan Kumar said.
T-Series’s catalogue includes Bollywood, Hindi, Punjabi, and Bhojpuri music.
Saavn has partnerships with other music labels like Sony, Aditya, Tips, Unisys, Yash Raj, Universal, Warner, and EMI.
“Listener demand and communication around these songs has been unprecedented, and we are thrilled to be able to answer that call with T-Series,” Paramdeep Singh, Executive Chairman and Co—Founder of Saavn said.
Founded in 2007, Saavn has over 11 million monthly users worldwide.
With titles licensed from over 900 content providers, Saavn’s other partners include global names AT&T, Bose, Lays, General Motors, Nokia, Samsung, and Western Union.
