Buoyed by the growth in the government vertical, Ricoh India, the subsidiary of Japanese technology major Richoh, expects to clock revenues of Rs.4,000 crore in 2017 from the current Rs.1,200 crore. In order to fuel this growth, the BSE listed company is also expanding its partner base from 3,000 to 5,000 across India. Ricoh recently has bagged deals from the postal department for digitising around 1.20 lakh post offices in the country.
Talking to reporters, Manoj Kumar, MD, Ricoh India said, “We are seeing a tremendous growth in the government segment. With current growth rate and looking at future, we are very confident about the opportunity in India. We see strong demand for both our products and services.” Presently, the company gets 45 per cent of its revenue from the government segment. Other than the postal deal, it has bagged two other mega deals which include a Rs.40-crore deal from the Tamil Nadu health department to modernise 169 healthcare centres by providing IT networking equipment and an another project worth Rs.68 crore involves supplying and installing IT infrastructure in 1,000 branches of Vijaya Bank.
“South India is a focus area for us and we want to expand our partner base from 900 to 1,500,” added Mr. Kumar.
