More advisors join Nilekani’s foundation

The/Nudge Foundation, a non-profit organisation backed by Infosys Co-Founder Nandan Nilekani, has announced that Manish Sabharwal, Co-Founder and Chairman of TeamLease Services, Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman and Founder, Narayana Health and Kiran Karnik, Former President of NASSCOM have joined its advisory board.

“Dr. Shetty, Manish Sabharwal and Kiran Karnik have all been path-breaking in not just leading their organisations to success but transforming the Indian development story. Therefore, their expertise is invaluable as we now look to scale,” said Atul Satija, Founder and CEO of The/Nudge Foundation.

The Foundation, which was launched on July 27, 2015, had bagged a $ 2 lakh grant from Mr.Nandan Nilekani.

It focuses on imparting life-skills and economic foundation for the poor at residential gurukuls across India. Its goal is to pull one million people sustainably out of poverty by 2020.

The Foundation boasts of an illustrious advisory board including Arun Seth, (Ex-Chairman British Telecom and Alcatel Lucent); Hugo Barra (Vice President, Xiaomi), Dr. Pramath Sinha (Founding Dean, ISB), Naveen Tewari (Founder and CEO InMobi), Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Founder Paytm and One97), Manish Dugar (CFO,InMobi) and Neeraj Arora (VP, WhatsApp Messenger.) Dr Shetty, who will now work with The/Nudge towards combating poverty, said, “At The/Nudge, I see the human potential, vision and innovation needed to make large scale impact in transforming the lives of young underprivileged Indians; enabling, empowering and skilling them to help them take ownership of their lives and their futures.”

The company claimed that the first batch of The/Nudge-MPhasis Gurukul has received 125 per cent placement with graduates getting placed across Indian brands.
