Technology giant HP said it has been able to cement a place among the top gaming PC brands in India within a year of its unveiling and is expanding its portfolio to cater to a wider range of players, including amateurs.
“Since we launched last year, we have been doing really well, business wise. We are already among the top brands in PC gaming,” HP India Senior Director (Personal Systems) Vickram Bedi said on Thursday.
He added that overall gaming, as a segment, was doing well in India. “India is catching up [on gaming]. We will be broadening our portfolio to cater to a wide range of players from amateurs to professionals.”
Industry estimates peg the overall PC gaming market in India at about ₹600-700 crore, growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 30-40%.
Market share ranking
Currently, Dell leads the gaming PC category with more than 40% share, followed by HP (more than 25%), according to market research company GfK.
The U.S.-based firm on Thursday unveiled its Omen X portfolio. While the Omen X Compact Desktop with VR backpack is priced at ₹2.94 lakh onwards, the Omen X desktop will retail for ₹4.49 lakh onwards.
