Honda Cars India on Thursday announced recall of 3,669 units of Accord, as part of its global campaign to replace faulty airbag inflators of Japan’s Takata Corp.
This recall will affect Honda Accord manufactured between 2003 and 2006.
‘Precautionary move’
“Honda Cars India will voluntarily replace Takata driver front airbag inflators of 3,669 vehicles of year 2003-2006 manufactured Honda Accord as part of Honda’s precautionary global recall campaign concerning Takata front airbag inflators,” the company said in a statement.
It added that the replacement would be carried out free of cost at the company’s dealerships April 18 onwards.
The company urged the owners of affected cars to get the front airbag inflators replaced “urgently as they may deploy with excessive internal pressure when activated.”
