Grasim Q2 net profit rises 17%

Grasim Industries for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015 has reported consolidated net profit of Rs.488.5 crore compared to Rs.416.3 crore for the same period last year, up 17 per cent.

The company’s consolidated revenue has grown by 6 per cent to Rs.8,393 crore compared to Rs.7,943 crore in the same period last year.

VSF revenue increased 13 per cent driven by higher sales volume aided by business development activities. During the quarter, the company’s Vilayat plant reached 100 per cent capacity utilization. EBITDA grew by 40 per cent to Rs.211 crore. In the Chemical business, revenue was up by 26 per cent with a volume growth of 20 per cent in Caustic Soda and 68 per cent in Epoxy.

EBITDA was higher by 17 per cent at Rs.93 crore wth the ramping up of production. ECU realisation remained stable in line with international markets, the company said.
