Dassault Systemes, the French maker of computer-assisted design programmes, has listed out two top priorities to achieve growth in India, according to a top official.

“Our first priority is to strengthen our presence in key verticals such as automotive, aviation and defence and industrial equipments,” said Samson Khaou, managing director India, Dassault Systemes. “We are also constantly working towards increasing our footprint in newer verticals such as retail, mining, renewable energy and architecture.” He said the IT firm was working towards developing smart cities with State governments in India. Recently, it partnered with the Rajasthan government along with Aurionpro, a technology products and solutions provider, where its ‘3DExperience’ platform would be used for designing and developing the 3D city model for Jaipur.

GIS environment

“With this pioneering project, Rajasthan will be the first State in the country to launch the 3D model in a geographic information system (GIS) environment.” In retail, Dassault Systemes caters to brands such as Myntra, Arvind Lifestyle and Brands and Mohan Clothing which had deployed its ‘3DExperience’ platform to unify digital environment. that connects internal and external stakeholders, integrates supply chain and improves visibility, flexibility and decision support.

Mentioning that Dassault Systemes was also planning to reach out to more businesses in these verticals and add them to its portfolio, he said it aimed to develop the workforce of the future.

“In line to this, we had announced centre of excellence in Karnataka for aerospace and defence and had also collaborated with Andhra Pradesh Government to open a centre of excellence to cater to the automotive, aerospace and defence and marine industry,” he said.

Last week, the firm hosted the second edition of the regional adaptation of the global mega trend event: ‘Manufacturing in the Age of Experience’ in Chennai to further boost Indian manufacturing in its digital transformation journey with the ‘3DExperience Twin’.
