CLO-Work: Simplicity over artistry

A five-minute walk from Cyber Towers, amid a handful of paying guest-homes and eateries, you are greeted by a compact co-working space CLO-Work (formerly known as Co.Lab.Orate) on the first floor of New Mark House at Madhapur. A black mesh at the entrance offers a hazy view of the interiors replete with black and white hues.

The area around the entrance, where you are welcomed by an art work surrounding the sun-god, is a space to accommodate events. The space is conceptualised to host activities of clubs formed by members and encourage more community events and make it go beyond the office-space label. The interiors of the hundred-seater space spanning over 4000 square feet score on simplicity over artistry. What gives them a twist is a variety of office spaces. There’s a movie production house, a hardware logistic firm, a software team, a bunch of freelancers who deck up their desks, all add up to the space’s cool vibe. In contrast, the interiors of the mini-cafteria, the reading room and the meeting spot feature a mix of red, green and yellow on the walls, all of which, says Raghuveer, a co-founder at CLO, are relieving colours. To the left of the office space is a dynamic wall with a white coating to fly ash, where each member of the workspace paints (a given motif) on the wall, so that a different motif emerges when all of them come together.

The space makes maximum use of natural lighting that rings in certain warmth to the area. If one is desirous of some solitude, the reading room works right. The mood in the room is calm with its Buddhist elements, the idols, posters, which the founders believe ensures serenity. .

CLO-work already provides investor-access and communication to startups, access to legal and accounting firms too. Tie-ups with food trucks and chains for lunches are on the cards.
