Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company has made a foray into the health insurance segment with the launch of a critical illness cover.
Under the Bajaj Allianz Life Health Care Goal, the new product, a family of up to six members can be covered in a single policy with one premium.
Managing director and CEO Tarun Chugh, addressing the media here on Monday, said as opposed to health insurance policies that reimbursed the cost of hospitalisation, the new product was a benefit plan under which the sum assured was paid in lump sum on detection of the illness.
The policyholder can claim the benefit of the plan in addition to the hospital reimbursement they may have. A ‘return of premium’ is another feature under which the insurer would return all the premium paid towards the policy in case no claim had been made in the policy – under two variants of the policy.
