German luxury car maker Audi, on Monday, launched its latest version of its popular sports car Audi RS 7 Sportback.

The car was launched last year in India, and the new version was launched at a price of Rs.1.40 crore, (ex-showroom Mumbai and Delhi). “The combination of a powerful four-litre V8 engine with cylinder on demand technology, Quattro drive and intelligent lightweight design makes the Audi RS 7 Sportback an outstanding piece of sports equipment for our discerning customers in India,” Joe King, Head, Audi India, said in a statement. The new Audi RS 7 is powered by a 4.0 litre TFSi turbocharged V8 engine and it accelerates from 0-100 km/hour in 3.9 seconds and the top speed can be increased from 280 kmph to 305 kmph. The company has claimed a fuel efficiency of 10.2 km per litre.

As the first, the company has introduced the Audi Matrix LED headlamps on the new car. The LED headlamp cluster dynamically alters the high beam on a real time basis. The car also has integrated dynamic turn signals on the front and rear as well as new tail lights design. Also, the RS 7 Sportback’s hybrid aluminum design weighs in at about 15 per cent less than a comparable steel body, the company said.

“This beautifully superior car has delighted many customers since its launch last year and we are confident that the new Audi RS 7 Sportback will further entrench our brand as the leader in the luxury sportscar segment in India,’ Mr. King said.
