Allianz said it is the lead insurance firm for the AirAsia jetliner that went missing off Indonesia with 162 people on board.

The Munich-based reinsurance giant said on Monday that its subsidiary Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty U.K. is the lead insurer for AirAsia, including for liability insurance.

Allianz said in a statement that it is too early to comment on the incident itself, but expressed its support for those affected by it.
