New head for Garment Exporters Association

Garment Exporters Association is to have a new head. The Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Rakesh Vaid, has taken over as the President of the Association for 2009-10.

Mr. Vaid takes over from G.S.Madan. He will continue as AEPC Chairman till December end when his term expires. He was elected GEA President unanimously at the Association’s 35th annual general meeting held here recently.

He is the founder Chairman of Usha Fabs, a leading manufacturer and exporter of readymade garments. The group has a diverse portfolio of garments. It has set up one of the largest schiffii embroidery unit in north India.
