Automobile major Mahindra and Mahindra on Wednesday launched a low-priced Rs.2.79 lakh mini-truck — Maxximo — targeting the small cargo vehicle segment, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The truck, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo in New Delhi, will roll out of the company’s Chakan plant in Maharashtra, and comes with a one-year free maintenance package.

Maxximo is powered by a two-cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder which can generate up to 25 bhp of power.

“Excellent fuel efficiency of 20 km per litre, a large loading area and 850 kg payload capacity allows the customer to carry a greater load in a single trip,” the company said in a statement.
