Kanimozhi inspects job fair registration centre

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi on Monday said that the next Mega Job Fair will be organised by the party at Tirunelveli.

Ms. Kanimozhi was here to observe the ongoing three-day Mega Job Fair Registration Camp that was organised by the district unit of the DMK as part of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s 86th birthday celebrations in the city and elsewhere in the district.

In a brief chat with reporters after interacting with candidates at the Kalaignar Arivalayam registration centre in the city, Ms. Kanimozhi said similar job fairs had been organised by the party at Kariyapatti, Virudhunagar, Kanyakumari, Vellore and Cuddalore. In the Cuddalore job fair alone, appointment orders had been given to 20,000 candidates, she pointed out.

She said several industries had come up in the State under Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s government resulting in creation of more job opportunities. All types of companies had taken part in the job fairs held so far.

Ms. Kanimozhi said an information data centre had been established at Cuddalore to ascertain information regarding job opportunities there adding discussions would be held with the Tiruchi district unit DMK regarding setting up a similar centre at Tiruchi as well as for organising training to students on soft skills.

The State Transport Minister K.N. Nehru, Forest Minister N. Selvaraj, School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu, Collector T. Soundiah, Corporation Commissioner T.T. Balsamy and other officials accompanied Ms. Kanimozhi.

Later, Ms. Kanimozhi visited the registration centres at Lalgudi, Mannachanallur, Tiruverambur and Manapparai.
