Harley-Davidson on Tuesday launched its new bike, Forty-Eight, in India, thus taking the current portfolio of its iconic bikes to 14. Priced at Rs.8.50-lakh, the new bike rides low with a slammed suspension, features the classic ‘peanut' fuel tank and comes with 1,200-cc V-Twin engine. It will start its booking this month at its five dealerships across the country.
New models
The U.S.-based bike manufacturer, which is setting up an assembly unit at Bawal in Haryana, is currently evaluating options in the wake of the new CKD (completely knocked down) norms, resulting in higher import duty. In December 2010, the company had announced that the SuperLow and Iron 883 would be the first two models to be rolled out of the CKD assembly facility in Bawal in Haryana.
