FM meets SEBI board

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, along with senior officials of the Finance Ministry, met with the board of SEBI in Delhi on Saturday.

During the meeting, SEBI chairman U. K. Sinha apprised the officials on some of the key recent developments and trends in the Indian securities market during the last few years and also the current and future agenda of the regulator.

It was acknowledged during the discussion that the share of market-based finance compared to bank finance has gone up particularly during 2015-16 and 2016-17.

It was also highlighted that there has been a significant rise in resource mobilisation by the mutual fund industry during the last few years, according to a statement issued by SEBI.
