Power management major Eaton has inaugurated its India Innovation Center at Magarpatta City in Pune to support its global capabilities.

“The new Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) is a strategic programme that is focused on enhancing organisational capabilities by leveraging high-end engineering talent and best-in-class infrastructure,” the company said in a statement.

Eaton’s chairman and CEO, Craig Arnold was in India for the occasion.

The new EIIC is a vertically integrated engineering organisation that will deliver complete product design lifecycle management solutions for Eaton’s global businesses, the company said.

Headed by Sudhakar Potukuchi, vice president, technology, the centre currently employs more than 1,500 engineers.

“The innovation centre is an integral part of Eaton’s global growth strategy and is in line with Eaton’s commitment to organic growth and achieving global technology leadership through its focus on innovation,” according to Ram Ramakrishnan, executive vice president and chief technology officer, Eaton, said on the significance of the EIIC.

Eaton, with sales of $19.7 billion in 2016, provides energy-efficient solutions to its customers.
