Financial technology firm InstaEMI to expand operations

InstaEMI, that is into underwriting and portfolio management services, plans to start operations this month in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata, according to its Chief Executive Officer Hanu Yedluri. Besides Hyderabad, where it is based, the company operates at present in Bengaluru, Chennai, Tirupati and Kurnool. The company plans to raise $10 million capital from a U.S.-based financial services company, Mr.Yedluri said here on Monday. “The funds will help grow our asset portfolio in metro cities,” he said. Stating that InstaEMI had partnered with 30 banks and over 40 asset management companies, he said between April and December 2016, the loan disbursements stood at ₹60 crore. It is expected to cross ₹100 crore by this fiscal end. Apart from unsecured loans, the company offers advisory services on alternative investment funds, mutual funds and retirement plans. Peer-to-peer lending is another focus area, he said. — Special Correspondent
