20.02 lakh tonnes of sugar for April

The Central government has made available 20.02 lakh tonnes of sugar, comprising 18 lakh tonnes of non-levy and 2.02 lakh tonnes of levy sugar, for April.

This quantum is considered adequate to meet the internal demand in April.

Millers have to sell and despatch the entire released non-levy quota for April within the validity period.
