Handicrafts exhibition gets under way

Jute products, leather products, glass paintings, silver filigree, Rajasthani and many more handicrafts available in the expo. Silk sarees ranging from Rs.5,000 to Rs.7,000 are on display.

An exhibition of ‘kalamkari’ wall hangings, sarees, patch works and kurtas and wooden artefacts took off at the Kalasrushti Handicrafts and Handlooms Exhibition on the beach road on Monday.

Silk sarees ranging from Rs.5,000 to Rs.7,000 with ‘kalamkari’ patch work are on display. The ethnic patterns of ‘kalamkari’ from Srikalahasti are aptly depicted on wall hangings. Apart from this, the emporium has on display Hyderabad pearls, brass sheet metal work, leather puppets, cochet lace, cotton and ‘kalamkari’ durries, textiles with artwork from Mangalagiri and Chirala, puja items, Venkatagiri zari sarees, Pochampalli cotton and silk sarees and bedsheets.

Jute products, leather products, glass paintings, silver filigree, Rajasthani and many more handicrafts are also available.

The exhibition is on till August 14.
