In accordance with a requisition signed by over twenty leading members of the Sri Mulam Popular Assembly and other prominent citizens, a public meeting was held last evening [in Trivandrum on February 26] at the “Bharatakesari” Office under the presidency of Dewan Bahadur Govinda Pillai, retired High Court Judge, to consider the formation of a Travancore People’s Association. There was a large and representative gathering. It was unanimously resolved that a Mahajana Sabha be immediately started and the first session be held in the local town hall in the middle of April. A strong, influential and representative committee was appointed to make the necessary arrangements and draw up a constitution. Considerable enthusiasm prevailed.
