June 26, 2018 12:15 am | Updated 12:15 am IST

The Bihar United Front Government fell to-day [June 25] as the Chief Minister Mr. Bhola Paswan Sastri submitted his resignation to the Governor. The resignation was announced in the Assembly by the Finance Minister, Mr. Krishnakant Singh. Mr. Sastri said in his letter to the Governor that “the position of my Government has become unstable as one of our constituent parties had put forth impossible conditions which are unacceptable in the interests of the State. I have, therefore, decided to resign in order to have a stable Government. I advise that the Assembly may be dissolved and midterm poll ordered.”
