April 24, 2018 02:15 am | Updated 02:15 am IST

Though replies to His Excellency the Viceroy’s invitation to attend the Conference at Delhi on Saturday the 27th are not yet completed, it is certain that the gathering will include a number of important influential chiefs, nearly all the non-official members of the Viceroy’s Legislative Council and numerous representatives nominated by the Provincial Governments. The proceedings of the Conference will open at the Council Hall, Delhi, at 10-30 on Saturday morning. Arrangements for the accommodation of delegates are being made by the Chief Commissioner, Delhi, in Curzon House, Alipur House, Metcalfe House and in some of the bungalows available. H.E. the Viceroy, H.E. the Commander-in-Chief with the respective staff, and all the members of the Executive Council are proceeding from Simla to take part in the War Conference. The Viceroy will deliver an address, and resolutions will be moved, the proceedings probably occupying about four hours. Committees to discuss resolutions will also be formed and will submit their reports on Monday morning (29th) when the conference will re-assemble to pass the resolutions. The Council Chamber is being rearranged to accommodate the large assembly expected.
