An Unprecedented Gathering.

The Thirty-Second Indian National Congress meets this afternoon [December 26 at ‘Congress Camp’ in Calcutta] at 2 P.M. An unprecedented gathering of delegates and visitors have arrived beyond expectation and excellent arrangements have been made by the Reception Committee who, despite many local difficulties, are working very hard and strenuously to meet all requirements. A sum of Rs. 20,000 has been raised by sale of Congress Reception Committee and other tickets.

About 800 delegates from Madras, the Punjab, United Provinces and Central Provinces arrived [on December 25]. Among the arrivals were the Hon’ble Mr. V.S. Srinivasa Sastri, the Hon’ble Mr. B.N. Sarma, Mr. Gandhi, the Hon’ble Pundit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Dr. Tej Báhadur Sapru, Mr. V.P. Madhava Rao, the Hon’ble Mr. K.V. Rangaswamy Iyengar, Mr. S. Kasturiranga Iyengar, Dewan Bahadur L.A. Govindaraghava Iyer, Mr. A. Rangaswamy Iyengar, Mr. G.A. Natesan, Mr. C.P. Ramaswamy Iyer, Mr. C.Y. Chintamani, the Hon’ble Sachidananda Sinha and Mr. Hasan Imam, Mr. Tilak with a party of 400 delegates will arrive.
