A suit has been filed in the [Calcutta] High Court by Maurice E. Bandman, the well known entertainer, against Miss Tommee Sturdie, a theatrical artiste. The defendant entered into an agreement with Bandman by which she undertook to give her exclusive services to Mr. Bandman during the period under agreement. It was alleged that during the pendency of that agreement she sent a letter of resignation to the manager of Bandman and joined Messrs. Woodhouse and Company’s office. In connection with the suit an application was made to-day [May 30] before Mr. Justice Chaudhuri asking for an injunction restraining Miss Sturdie from giving her services to Woodhouse and Company. His Lordship issued a rule on Miss Sturdie to show cause why an interim injunction should not be issued.
