Kids’ day out

Jai Ho: Enjoying every moment of the trip

Children of Delhi had a gala time recently. Courtesy Sony Pix that organised a special bus tour for the underprivileged kids to show them the prominent places of Delhi. They called it “Slumdog Millionaire bus ride”. The kids were brought to the National Science Museum at India Gate and Parliament Street. R.J. Nitin also kept kids engaged with his histrionics in the bus.

Essence of Delhi

The children belonged to J.J. Cluster, Dwarka sector 15 and 16 in West Delhi. Two NGOs, Alamb and Plan India which work for underprivileged children, joined hands for the project “Child Centre Community Development”. The main purpose of the bus ride was to give them knowledge of science and celebrate the masti of Delhi.

Chitra Pal, studying in Std. VIII, Govt. Boys’ Senior Secondary School, said, “I loved seeing the dinosaurs’ cave.” Ruhi, studying in Std. VIII at Sarvodhya Kanya Vidyalaya, said chirpily, “I enjoyed watching the magic show, dinosaurs and equaliser”.

S. Hussain, programme manager of Alamb NGO, said, “We have been working for children for the last seven years and Plan India joined hands with us this year. We do birth registration for children, provide tuition to weak students and provide other facilities.”
